Online RF Design, Terrain Profile and Co-Locate Search Tool
PowerSearch is an innovative web-based RF propagation and microwave profile design tool that generates site and path designs on any computer with a compatible browser and Internet access. PowerSearch is also the first product to offer both basic and full design capabilities, providing an ideal tool for both engineers and non-engineers. For
engineers, PowerSearch offers full design features that generate accurate RF site designs and microwave path profiles. Now, with PowerSearch, you can complete your designs when and where you need them - at the office, on the road or on-site.
For non-engineers like financial analysts, project managers, site acquisition staff, field/switch technicians, marketing staff, and the rest of us, PowerSearch's unique basic design features lets you generate general RF site and microwave path designs to support your departmental tasks that require design and analysis support.
PowerSearch also offers complete microwave search and analysis capabilities, plus an efficient way to search multiple databases for all registered antennas, co-locate sites plus all structures identified or approved by the FCC and FAA.
Results are displayed in PowerSearch's interactive mapping interface for easy analysis. PowerSearch is a valuable tool for anyone responsible for locating, analyzing and designing sites. PowerSearch can be accessed at www.wirelessapplications.com.
RF Propagation
PowerSearch's innovative RF design feature generates quick RF propagation projections right through the Internet. This convenience, flexibility and accuracy provides unmatched efficiency as you design and analyze sites. Users can select either basic or full propagation projections to generate a multi-point coverage contour for a site. These coverage contours, with up to one degree resolution, displays signal strength thresholds identified by user-selected colors. PowerSearch's RF propagation feature uses 3 arc-second terrain data and factors in link budget calculations, antenna, sector, power, azimuth, frequency and down-tilt specifications.
Basic Propagation
This unique feature empowers non-engineers like financial analysts, project managers, site acquisition staff, field/switch technicians and marketing personnel by providing an easy-to-use tool that can generate general site propagation projections. These projections provide sufficient support for strategic business planning needs. By using common industry equipment, power and design specifications, non-engineers can now generate site designs that immediately show if a site is feasible for a specific location and warrants further engineering studies or to determine how many sites it will take to build-out a specific market. Plus, these site designs can be conveniently generated on any computer with a compatible browser and an Internet connection. So if you need site design support but you're not an engineer, try PowerSearch's new basic propagation feature.
Full Propagation
Imagine generating RF site designs when you need them and wherever you need them. With PowerSearch, like other RF design tools, you can generate full accurate site designs. Only now, PowerSearch offers the ability to create RF designs on any computer with a compatible browser and a connection to the Internet. You don't have to buy a special computer to use PowerSearch. This convenience and flexibility will help manage your design needs. So whether you're at the office, on the road or on-site you can efficiently design your system sites. After entering your specific design components and specifications, click the 'Propagate' button. Your results will be displayed in PowerSearch's map window. To design multiple sites, a secured custom layer can be created for your company that only your company can view. If you are interested in this feature please contact us for more details.
Microwave Terrain Profiling
PowerSearch is also the first online point-to-point terrain profiling tool that immediately displays your profile results through the Internet. PowerSearch's basic path analysis lets you quickly determine if a microwave path can be achieved between two sites. For more advanced users a full design profile can be performed by entering; frequency, tower heights, ground elevations, K factors and by selecting an antenna from the thousands of antenna manufacturers and types available within PowerSearch's database. Entering and selecting site and path specifications are easy to complete with PowerSearch's site profile selection screens.
Microwave Analysis
With PowerSearch's full microwave analysis feature you can complete microwave research and analysis for your proposed microwave path. PowerSearch performs both tower and path research. For tower research, PowerSearch searches and analyzes a unique database that has become the best source for approved microwave tower and structure data. Your search results will identify all existing FCC approved microwave paths for your selected market.
For more advanced analysis, select PowerSearch's path research feature. Enter your path's coordinates, a desired frequency range and the number of paths and PowerSearch will return all available frequency bands (if any) based on complex interference calculations. If a frequency band is available, select PowerSearch's keyhole analysis feature and PowerSearch will perform the required FCC calculations to determine which existing path(s) require coordination letters in order to clear your new path. To protect your path, you can use PowerSearch's interference feature to determine if your existing path interferes with a new proposed path requested by another company. The results from your full microwave research and analysis will provide your engineering and/or
FCC departments with a significant amount of information required to complete required FCC research, tracking and filing.
Comprehensive Searches
PowerSearch also provides comprehensive search capabilities. You can search multiple databases for all registered sites, all structures referenced on FCC wireless filings, all structure information sent to the FCC by the FAA and all FAA approved structures. These databases are frequently updated to insure accurate, complete and timely data.
Co-Locate Opportunities
This search feature is ideal for any company looking for tower co-locate or leasing opportunities for a specific market. Comprised of site locations from selected major tower companies and carriers, this database is a growing source that adds tremendous value to your search results as you manage network expansion and improvement opportunities.
